A remarkable building.Construction of this church began in 1280, but it was not until the 1393 that it was finished. The church officially became a cathedral after the French Revolution, in 1792. Before you explore inside the cathedral, have a good look at the tympanum - the semicircular panel above the main entrance - which comes from the ancient cathedral of Saint-Etienne, and replaced the original hammered plate. Inside the cathedral, the spaces open up before you with spendid soaring lines fitting for a cathedral.
